Families and Children Cooperative Extension programs help people make informed decisions to improve their quality of life. These programs also serve to address critical family needs and foster positive growth and development across the lifecycle.

Programs include a broad range of issues and topics such as :

  • Family Living

  • Child Care Training -  for family, group, center, and neighbor/relative child care providers.

    Better Kid Care is Cooperative Extension's educational program for family, group, center, and neighbor/relative child care providers.

  • Pennsylvania Pathways - Professional Development for Child Caregivers -

    Pennsylvania Pathways has a network of training organizations that offer educational opportunities for child care professionals. These educational opportunities help child caregivers satisfy their annual training requirement as specified by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. On an annual basis, caregivers must obtain a minimum of six hours of training in various early childhood related topics as well as obtain necessary health and safety training.

  • Resource Management, Family Financial Issues  - Articles are available on basic budgeting skills, estate planning, and helping low-income families and families in crisis manage money.
